Q. How often should I wash my hair?
A. Hair Rules cleansers, Daily Cleansing Cream and Aloe Grapefruit Purifying Shampoo, have been specifically formulated to gently clean all hair types without ever depleting the hair of the moisture and pliability it requires to yield a perfectly loopy curl pattern. Both are paraben and sulfate free.

Conventional shampoos don’t address the special conditioning needs of textured hair. More often than not, they actually dry out and strip textured hair of its natural oils. As a result, women with textured hair are always trying to get their hair back to the manageability it was before they shampooed.

Daily Cleansing Cream can be used every single day, and is safe enough for use on children.

Aloe Grapefruit Purifying Shampoo can be used as follows:
Kinky Textures - 1 to 2 times per month
Curly Textures - once a week
Wavy Textures - everyday
Straight Textures - everyday

Q. After I shampoo my hair, it gets big and frizzy. What kind of shampoo should I be using?
A. A nourishing cleanser like Daily Cleansing Cream helps tame frizz by infusing it with highly conditioning and softening ingredients like panthenol, honey and hops.

Q. The more humid it gets, the frizzier my hair gets, especially after I wash it. What can I do?
A. Humidity loves dry, textured hair. Frizz won’t stand a fighting chance against our Nourishment Leave In Conditioner, topped with a bit of Hydrating Finishing Cream.

Q. How often can I restyle my hair?
A. Hair Rules offers a wash-and-go system, so you can re-style your hair as often as you like, with or without shampooing and conditioning.

Q. How do I refresh my curly hair without having to re-wash it?
A. You have a couple of options. You can lightly mist your hair with a spray bottle and add a touch of Nourishment Leave In Conditioner to refresh the curl, followed by Hydrating Finishing Cream on dry hair. Or you can just add Hydrating Finishing Cream to dry hair to refine and define the curl pattern.

Q. I have straight hair? Which styling products do you recommend?
My business partner has straight, fine hair and loves using these products. The beauty of the Hair Rules system is that although the products are highly moisturizing, they’re not heavy, so they doesn’t weigh down the hair – no matter what your texture.

Q. I have fine hair and I can’t seem to find a product that doesn’t feel sticky on my hair. Any suggestions?
A. Our Wavy Mousse is the perfect styling product for fine hair. It won’t get sticky, tacky or flaky, and will actually help to fluff up your curls.

Q. I have fine curly hair. Conditioner usually makes my hair flat. What do I do?
A. You may have accumulated build up weighing down your hair. Try Aloe Grapefruit Purifying Shampoo to gently remove any residue from your previous products. Follow with Nourishment Leave In Conditioner to hydrate your hair without flattening it. Style with Wavy Mousse to build volume and define your curls; leaving them shiny, and bouncy.

Q. I have a lot of fluffy, bushy but fine curly hair. Which styling products do you recommend?
A. The fact is bushy hair is a natural characteristic of textured hair if not cared for properly. To start, shampoo with a moisturizing shampoo such as Daily Cleansing Cream. Then, style with a lightweight product that defines and holds without crunch such as Wavy Mousse. What makes Wavy Mousse so great is its ability to adhere the curl without weight.

Q. I color treat my hair every six weeks. I’ve been told that shampooing my hair everyday fades my hair faster. What do you recommend to keep my color from fading?
A. Daily Cleansing Cream will allow you to wash your everyday while maintaining the vibrancy in your color.

Q. I have relaxed hair. Can I use your products?
A. Absolutely, chemically-relaxed hair equally can benefit from the gentle formulations of Hair Rules cleansers, conditioners and styling products. Wavy mousse is an ideal product for wraps and sets.

Q. I’ve been relaxing my hair for years how do I go natural?
A. Transitioning from a relaxed to natural style is not as overwhelming as you may think. Simply stop relaxing it. Here are a couple of ways to go about it.
  • For starters, you can continue to heat style without worrying about the damaging effects of your relaxed hair. It’s just play hair.
  • You can cut it and start over - and learn to love your natural hair! Cutting your hair can be a very emotional experience. But I’ve found many women find it liberating.
  • If you’re not ready to take the plunge and cut your hair off, you can get a curly weave, close to the texture you desire, and use Wavy Mousse as a lightweight styling solutions. Weaves are a great way to transition through the process.
Q. Is there a trick to sleeping on my hair at night?
A. Tie a wide satin hair scarf completely around the hair, mid-crown. Wake up, fluff, work a bit of Hydrating Finishing Cream through hair, and off you go.

Q. I have kinky hair, and my scalp is dry. What do I do?
A. If your scalp is dry, you must stop using conventional shampoos! You can pamper and repair your scalp with Daily Cleansing Cream, massaging it on your scalp for soothing relief. You should use Aloe Grapefruit Purifying Shampoo once a month as a treatment to remove scalp residue and product build up.

Q. Can you show me the best way to apply my Kinky Curling Cream?
A. You got it! We made a how to video just for you folks who prefer visual direction. Click here to view.

Q. I’ve tried using your Kinky Curling Cream and don’t get the same results I see in the video. Why not?
A. More than likely you haven’t used enough product. If you only apply a small amount and rub it in with your palms, you will create frizz, not luscious curls. If you saturate the hair with product and work it through in sections, stretching your hair with your fingers, you should see results.
